In Japan, this lily is called "demon lily" although the English name is "tiger lily". I think it should be rather called "panther lily". In Japan we eat the roots of this flower and the main area to produce is Makkari village in Hokkaido. I found my drawing in my sketch book drawn more than 50 years ago when I was a college student.

Today is Tanabata, Star Festival in Japan. Kappabashi Hondori which is perpendicular to the street of Kitchenware Town (Kappabashi) looks busy is the decoration of Tanabata. People in this town such as merchants, families and children of kindergarten had decorated it with a lot of branches of bamboo to write a wish on a strip of paper and tie it. Although daytime pedestrian traffic was not a lot yet but in the night from the evening, it might increase? Since the sky is getting a little cloudy now, it might not be seen the stars tonight.
